EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES OF THE ASSOCIATION
Educating and informing members on investment opportunities
Organizing seminars, workshops and training programmes for Corporate
Members, Business/Professional Associations, the Press and Members and Chambers of the Association.
GOVERNMENTAL ASSOCIATION RELATIONS
Informing members about State Legislative Development
Encouraging and equipping members to express personal and knowledgeable vies on Legislative issues to their legislators and Governmental regulations i.e Public Advocacy programmes
Assisting Ogun State Government by furnishing facts, statistics etc., covering industry and services.
Maintaining a legislative or Government Relation’s Committee to study and make recommendation concerning rational legislative issues.
Assisting members in connection with tariff and trade agreement
Representing members in tariff negotiation.
Lobbying to accomplish objectives of its membership
Nominating members to serve on Ogun State Government approved Boards, Commissions and Committees.
RESEARCH AND STATISTICS

INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION
Ogun state is a rapid industrializing state and is placing herself in a position of opportunity to attract all forms of fortuities that will be beneficial to the private sector. OGUNCCIMA have been able to establish Bilateral Agreement (MOU) between herself and
Guangdong Shaoguan Chambers of Commerce in Guangzhou, China in 2017
Regional Chambers of Commerce Port-Novo Benin Republic. in 2018
These MOUs afford our members the chance to carry out business and trade activities with trusted firms in these countries, foster growth and investment opportunities.
OGUNCCIMA COLLABORATE WITH SHANDONG BRIGHTWAY INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION. CO LIMITED, CHINA;
The Chamber collaborates with Shandong Brightway International with the aim of promoting trade and investment between Nigeria and China, facilitating present and potential business transactions between both Countries.
PARTNERSHIP WITH DELEGATION OF CERMAN INDUSTRY AND COMMERCE [DGIC] INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS SERVICES LIMITED:
The purpose of this MoU is to establish the foundation for the development of a meaningful collaborative partnership between DGIC International Business Services Limited within the framework of a Dual Vocational Training.
PARTNERSHIP WITH SEQUA: For continuation of the DVT program, will collaborate with SEQUA. OGUNCCIMA DVT/CBT IN PARTNERSHIP WITH SEQUA
The vocational education training partnership initiated by chamber of Industry and commerce (CCI) Giessen – Friedberg focuses on the improvement of vocational education quality within Nigerian Enterprises by better combination of theory and practice. With this approach it contributes to the employability among the Nigeria Youth and hence to poverty reduction.
The partnership started in 2012 but OGUNCCIMA did not fully keyed into the program into the program until 2015 when the immediate past president, Alhaji Wasiu Olateye requested from the DVT project office for the approval of a training center in Abeokuta.
Consequent upon the request, OGUNCCIMA approach the state Government through the board for Technical and vocational Education, for approval to use the dilapidated male hostel building at the GSTC Idi-Aba as training center. The request was graciously approved and OGUNCCIMA renovated the dilapidated building. The DVT project office on seeing the efforts put in by OGUNCCIMA, approved the training center in Abeokuta for take-off
The first set of 25 trainees in Abeokuta were trained at Lawson College in April 2016. While the 12 months Apprenticeships training for the 1st batch of 25 apprentices started immediately in May 2016.
OGUNCCIMA-BESTAC has continued to play its key role in sustaining the OGUNCCIMA Competence Based Training Programme, which had provided a very good platform for the training of personnel in our Industries on two key areas: Office Administration and Project Management and Industrial Electronics. OGUNCCIMA-BESTAC has completed the internal and external verification exercise for her apprentices who completed the training. Following the completion of the verification exercise by NABTEB, OGUNCCIMA-BESTAC is now a Certifying Training Institute that is professionally qualified to train apprentices.
OGUNCCIMA Business Entrepreneurship Skills Technology Acquisition Centre [ OGUNCCIMA BESTAC]. The Centre runs a Competence Based Training [CBT] which based on the training needs of the learners. In principle it is learners centered and adaptive to the training need of learners, trainers, employers and society. Competence in this case is the demonstration of application of skills, knowledge and attitude required for work in defined area of occupation. The Chamber Competence Based Training had provided a very good platform for the training of personnel in two key areas:
- Industrial Electronics
- Office Administration & Project Management
MILESTONES RECORDED SO FAR INCLUDE
100 apprentices in office administration profession and 100 apprentices in Industrial Electronics had been trained.
Certificate of outstanding innovative partnership was awarded to OGUNCCIMA.
Renovation of dilapidated building to a suitable training centre
Provision of 18 KVA generator for the training centre
Renovation and provision of mattresses for dormitory at the training center
OGUNCCIMA have 5 NBTE trained Assessors, 3 trained curriculum developers and 10 competent trainers
OGUNCCIMA have registered its training Centre with NABTEB as OGUNCCIMA Business Entrepreneurship Skills Technology Acquisition Centre [ OGUNCCIMA – BESTAC. 28161 is OGUNCCIMA Centre number.
BUSINESS, TRADE AND STUDY TRIPS
OGUNCCIMA at have organized and attended several Business and Trade Missions to other countries that is of benefit to her members (Mention Some)
In the interest of developing the private sector human resources, OGUNCCIMA participated in two study trips during the implementation of German Dual Vocational Training in Ogun State in partnership with Giessen-Friedberg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Germany among where we visited BiBB in Bonn and Giessen-Friedberg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI). The Chamber has since then championed it cause within the state now.
CORDIAL RELATIONS WITH GOVERNMENT, MDAs and BMOs
OGUNCCIMA as an organized private sector body is doing her best to foster good relationship with the state government, Ministry, Departments, Agencies and Business Membership Organizations. It is our belief that firms within the state will prosper when all the organized private sector are in synergy and pursuing a common goal. We have good standing with the Ogun state Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Ministry of Agriculture, Bank of Industry and Agriculture, Small and Medium Scale Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria and others.
