Nigeria’s real estate sector is gaining renewed international attention as Ola Isaac, founder of Rematech Properties, led a strategic engagement with investors and developers in Germany aimed at boosting foreign partnerships and promoting affordable housing initiatives back home.
The high-level engagement took place during the 3rd International Networking Conference held recently in Giessen, Germany, under the theme “The World Meets in Giessen.” The conference served as a hub for African and European stakeholders to explore opportunities in trade, innovation, sustainable development, and housing.
For Nigeria, and particularly Ogun State, the event became a launchpad to spotlight the country’s real estate investment opportunities amid growing urbanization and infrastructure expansion.
“It was an eye-opening experience,” said Ola Isaac, reflecting on the business-to-business (B2B) sessions. “From construction models to interior designs, we saw how simplicity and efficiency drive quality housing in Germany. These are lessons we are bringing home as we advance our affordable housing project in Ogun State.”
According to Isaac, the visit was not only about learning global best practices but also about securing actionable investment links.
“Germany is a more advanced economy with a high standard in building and housing. The simplicity, durability, and design of their buildings were striking. We are now in talks to replicate similar quality here in Nigeria, tailored to local needs,” he revealed.
Isaac further unveiled a visionary project, a Farm City housing estate planned for Ogun State. The estate is designed to integrate modern residential infrastructure with agricultural facilities, a step he described as crucial to combating food insecurity and bridging the urban-rural divide.
“Our vision is not just about housing,” he explained. “It’s about building sustainable communities where people can live, work, and grow.”
Former Nigeria’s Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who also attended the conference, praised the Rematech initiative and called for broader global engagement with Nigeria’s economic landscape.
“We must keep putting Nigeria on the global investment map,” Mohammed stated. “Conferences like this offer the perfect avenue to show the world what we are capable of. Events like this not only promote our economy but also foster cultural and diplomatic ties.”
In support, the President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Barrister Dele Oye, urged European investors to explore Nigeria’s fast-evolving sectors.
“Nigeria presents tremendous untapped opportunities,” Oye said. “From the real estate sector to agro-processing and manufacturing, the German business community has a lot to gain by engaging with us. Our population and expanding urban centers present a profitable market.”
Also speaking, President of the Ogun State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (OGUNCCIMA), Lion Niyi Oshiyemi, emphasized the increasing economic viability of Ogun State as a destination for foreign capital.
“Ogun is fast becoming Nigeria’s economic hub. We are open to collaborations, especially in the area of affordable housing, industrial parks, and agricultural estates,” Oshiyemi noted. “There is room for innovation, and our government is actively supporting the private sector.”
The event culminated in Ola Isaac receiving a certificate of participation from the Giessen-Friedberg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) — a gesture that signifies not just recognition, but readiness to build bridges between Nigerian and European business interests.
“This is not just a win for me. It’s a win for our business, our clients, and for every Nigerian who dreams of owning a quality, affordable home,” Isaac concluded.
