OGUNCCIMA TAKES DVT CAMPAIGN TO FEDERAL MEDICAL CENTRE, ABEOKUTA.

The immediate Past President of Abeokuta Chamber of Commerce and the First Deputy President of Ogun State Chamber of Commerce and industry, Alhaji Wasiu Babatunde Olaleye led the delegation of the Chamber on a courtesy visit to the Management of Federal Medical Centre, ldi – Aba, Abeokuta, Ogun State. Addressing the hospital’s management, Alhaji Olaleye disclosed the Chamber’s partnership with the Germans on the Dual Vocational Training (DVT), mentioning the four keys professions that the Dual Vocational System covers such as industrial Electronics, Office Administration and Project Management and industrial Mechanics & Technical Facility Management.
He added that companies, organizations and prominent members of the Chamber were benefitting from the training of apprentices in the aforementioned professions while restating that the training was necessary so as to fill the gaps for unskilled workers with skilled workers, as this would reduce dearth of qualified skill work force in the country, which led to the introduction of the Dual Vocational project, ln his response, the Medical Director of Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, Prof. Adewale Musa Olomu corroborated Alhaji Olaleye’s remark that there was shortage of skilled technical workers in the country and the hospital have had a share of the consequence. The Medical Director therefore expressed the interest of the hospital in the Dual Vocational Training Programme, stressing that the management is desirous of partnering with the chamber on the programme.
